There will be 4 teams from the 618 area code that will be playing in the 4 state championship games today at Redbird Arena in Normal. The day begins today with the 1a State Title game between Okawville and Christopher at 11. That will be followed by Mater Dei and Byron for the 2a title at 12:45.
Then Lincoln will take on Nazareth Academy at 5:30 after the Lady Railers beat Deerfield 76-56. In the game, junior Kloe Froebe set the IHSA state final single game scoring record for all classes scoring 45 points on 12-of-18 shooting including 2-of-4 from three point line and 19-of-23 from the free throw line. The 3rd place game was won by Peoria over Deerfield last night 86-67.
Then the final game of the night is at 7:15 when the O’Fallon Lady Panthers take on Lisle Benet Academy. O’Fallon got there with a 77-60 victory over Arlington Heights Hersey. Geneva won the 3rd place game over Hersey 72-61.
