It will be an all 618 battle for the 1a girls state basketball title after Okawville and Christopher won their semifinal games at Redbird Arena. Alayna Krause led Okawville with 23 points and 8 rebounds, Briley Rhodes added 10 as Okawville showcased their lockdown defense outscoring the Pirates 26-12 in the 2nd and 3rd quarters.
The Lady Rockets will play at 11a.m. tomorrow against the Christopher Lady Bearcats. Amiah Hargrove scored 23 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to help them over St Thomas More 42-28.
In the 1a 3rd place game last night, Galena bounced back to beat St Thomas More 60-48.
In 2a, the Mater Dei Lady Knights knocked off the #1 team in the state beating Quincy Notre Dame 61-54 to play in tomorrow’s state title game. The Lady Knights avenged a 44-32 loss to QND at Breese back on December 10th and won their 9th straight. They advance to get Byron tomorrow at 12:45. The 3rd place game last night was won by Quincy Notre Dame 66-57.
