Kaskaskia College men & women hosted Shawnee on Saturday for Sophomore night. The Blue Angels fell 72-63 to fall to 17-13 overall and 7-9 in the Region. Makenzie Russell led KC with 20, Keva Wilson added 12, Taylor Austin finished with 11 and 10 from Courtney Lumpkins.
The Blue Angels will be the 6-seed in the upcoming Region 24 Tournament hosted by Lake Land. The first game of the tournament will be on Friday night when 8th seed John A Logan takes on 9th seed Lincoln Trail. The winner will play in the opening game Sunday at 1pm against top-seed Wabash Valley. 4th seed Shawnee will play 5th seed Rend Lake at 3, 2nd seed Vincennes and 7th seed Olney Central at 5 and then Sunday at 7pm it will be 3rd seed SWIC taking on 6th seed KC. The semifinal will be next Tuesday and the finals next Thursday.
