The Marion County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a husband and wife for a Thursday burglary at a rural Kell home.

Sheriff Kevin Cripps says 33-year-old Marcus and 37-year-old Shannon Hicks of North Hamilton in Salem were arrested at their home Friday afternoon.   Video evidence led to their identification and arrest.

Money and jewelry were reportedly taken from the home in the 52-hundred block of Cedar Road.   Cripps believes the money is gone.  Some of the jewelry has been recovered.  The department is still trying to recover the rest.

Entry was gained through a garage window.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department canine was called to the home Thursday evening when the owner returned to find a front door standing open and it wasn’t clear if someone may still be inside.  That turned out not to be the case.

Cripps says there are no other suspects in the burglary.

He’s commending those involved in solving the case within 24 hours of when the burglary occurred.
