The Salem City Council Monday night will be introduced to the city’s new canine “Civka”. Patrolman Grant Green has recently completed his training with “Civka”.
There will be a ceremonial swearing in of patrolwoman Sarah Dice. Dice has now completed Police Academy training and is working with the field training officer.
The council will also be asked to approve the formation of the position of Deputy Chief for the Salem Police Department. The position was first created in 2014, but was not added to the city code at that time.
The meeting begins at six Tuesday night at Salem City Hall.
