Hundreds of kids flood Salem streets and Trunk or Treats Halloween Night plus Halloween costume contest winners

Hundreds of kids in a wide variety of costumes made their way through Salem Monday night during Trick or Treat.

Those set up along Main and Broadway downtown and at various Trunk or Treat sites reported brisk business.

Salem Police reported no Halloween issues.

The evening began with the traditional Halloween Costume Contest sponsored by the Salem Recreation Department and Marion County YMCA.

Scarlett, Ivy, David, and Taylor Villalobos dressed s Bob’s Family Burgers took first place in the family division.  Jocelyn and Liann Redenbo and Grace, Easton and Josiah Henson as Peter Pan characters took second.  Al, Angie, Alek, and Amelia Kemner took third place as Star War characters.

In the three years and younger category, Mays Mosbarger dressed as a duck was first, Lilly Snow dressed as Baby Yoda was second, and Evie Benjamin as Eleven was third.

4 to 7-year-old Halloween costume winners.

In the four to seven-year-old division, Jaxon Munter-Grover dressed as a burger took first.  June Dale Graham as Steve Irwin was second.  Katrina Wolff wearing a Beetle Juice costume was third.

8 to 12-year-old Halloween contest winners.

In the eight to 12-year-old division, Vincent Simmons dressed as a monster deer was first, Braxton Munter-Grover as Hamilton was second, and Kayle Rhymes as Dr. Octopus was third.
