Bond has been set at $75,000 for a 38-year-old Centralia man who is the second to be arrested in connection with a residential burglary broken up in progress as a result of a motion detector.

Police took Christopher Owens of South Walnut Street into custody on Wednesday in connection with the break in last week of a home in the 1000 block of South Maple.

Owens was arrested after the homeowner reviewed video surveillance and saw a person identified as Owens inside the home.

43-year-old Scott Hamburg of Breese Street in Central City was arrested after allegedly breaking out a window and attempting to run from the residence after police entered the residence.  Police were called after the homeowner was notified by a motion detector that someone was in the house.

Owens had the public defender appointed to represent him and was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim or his alleged co-defendent.

Hamburg was earlier charged with the burglary.   He has been released on $750 cash bond.
