The Odin Renewal and Development Corporation was surprised with the number of people who visited the first even Goose Creek Festival on Saturday.
The event at the donated Hubbell Warehouse included craft and food vendors, music, and a number of other activities.
Cheryl Soulon is a member of the board and says after a review they will decide if the event will be held again.
Soulon reports ORDC is currently working on several projects, including the replacement of the three Welcome to Odin signs.
“We have been trying to get somebody to rehab them but it was just too time-consuming. So we are going to check into other options. We also have some antique street lamp poles that we want to put solar lights on and put them around town. But that will be quite involved.”
Soulon says they recently started a caps collection program to get benches for the Odin School. She reports ongoing projects include Santa’s Cottage during the Christmas season, maintaining the Memorial Garden at Odin School and two recycling drives each year.
The ORDC recently became a 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization that will allow for tax-deductible donations.

The Odin FFA was one of the organizations setting up a booth at the Goose Creek Festival.
