Hunter Bradford Jolliff, 20, of Patoka passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022. He was born on February 20, 2002, the first-born son of Jay and Jennifer (Wonnell) Jolliff in Maryville, Illinois.
Survivors that will smile when remembering Hunter’s adventurous spirit and the way he could always make them laugh include his devoted parents Jay and Jennifer Jolliff of Patoka; his best friends, his brothers Beau Jolliff, and Dane Jolliff both of Patoka; his sweetheart and soulmate Lexi Enke of Centralia; his loving grandparents Carl and Jessica Jolliff of Patoka, Stan and Angie Wonnell of Huntington, West Virginia, Mike and Becky Casey of Ramsey, and Pam Kovar of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; great-grandparents Evelyn “Gigi” Jolliff, Stan Wonnell, Dolly Miller, and Sharon TenBarge; his supportive aunts and uncles Hap and Elizabeth Jolliff, and Zeb Jolliff and friend Amanda, Amy and Phil Moreland, Hanna and Chris Heavener, John Casey, Amanda, and Todd Cowan, Chloe Wonnell and fiancé Joe; and many special cousins.
Hunter was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Sam Jolliff, Betty Johnson, Betty Wonnell, Kenny Miller, Fern Casey, Joe Casey, and Jerry TenBarge; grandparent “Papa John” Kovar; and his baby cousin Landry Cowan.
Hunter grew up in Patoka and was a proud Class of 2020 graduate where his smile and curly hair were well known. He was a natural athlete, a true Patoka Warrior, and a valuable asset to Warrior Nation, lending his skills to both the baseball and basketball teams. He was determined and driven, a hard worker that could do absolutely anything he put his mind to. He brought his strong work ethic into play while he was an employee for three years at Centralia Machine and Fab, where he was an intricate part of the team. Hunter was a fabricator, welder, powder coater, and press operator and would do anything asked of him.
To say Hunter loved time spent in the great outdoors would be an understatement. He could be found out hunting for deer, ducks, geese, and turkey, excited for each new hunting season that would be coming. He liked to work with his dog, Roxy, training her to be a great asset to him when duck season started. When he wasn’t hunting, he never missed an opportunity to take his brother, Beau fishing, showing him the tricks of the trade. He was proud to be a mentor sharing his athletic abilities with his younger brother, Dane showing him all he had learned playing baseball and basketball. Hunter was an amazing friend who brought laughter and fun, making the best memories while soaking in the sun’s rays with friends and his sweet Lexi at the lake. The true love Lexi and Hunter shared always brought out the best in Hunter and made him a better man. Hunter was gracious to share his kind heart with all who were blessed to know him. His loving spirit is now entrusted to all who loved him, as the best of Hunter lives on through all of them.
