The Mt. Vernon Police Department Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department High-Risk Team executed two search warrants last week and made a total of six felony drug arrests.

43-year-old Nickolas Wuebbels is being held for aggravated delivery of 15 to 100 grams of methamphetamine, possession of drug equipment and possession of ammunition by a felon and23-year-old Deja Hill for alleged possession of under five grams of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia after a search warrant was issued Friday morning on a home at 913 Salem Road in Mt. Vernon.  During the search, detectives allegedly located methamphetamine, drug equipment, and ammunition.

Earlier in the week on Tuesday, four Bluford residents were arrested following the execution of a search warrant by the Mt Vernon Jefferson County High-Risk Team along with the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System Tactical Team at 319 North Poplar in Bluford.    The two tactical teams were able to secure four people, the residence, outbuildings, and various vehicles without incident.

39-year-old Rose McCormick is charged with the Class X felony of aggravated delivery of 15 to 100 grams of methamphetamine and possession of fentanyl.  Bond was set at $100,000, with $75,000 on the new charges and $25,000 on a petition to revoke probation.   41-year-old Robert Newbury was released on $10,000 personal recognizance bond after being charged with possession of a controlled substance.   69-year-old Cynthia Bruce had bond set at $25,000 after being charged with possession of under five grams of methamphetamine.  44-year-old Jon Hartman had bond set at $30,000 for possession of a controlled substance and possession of methamphetamine.

During a search of the property, detectives located quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl, druq equipment, currency, and property believed to be stolen from a Jefferson County burglary.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division continues to investigate the burglary and recovered property. Charges are possible in the future.
