He then married Maurine Lowther, and they had four children: Derek, Drake, Audra, and Gavin.

Leroy married Janice Purser Butterfield and helped her raise her 3 children: Julie, Jerry, and Jody.

In 2009 he married Kristyn Darger, the mother of seven adult children: Glen, James, Sam, Danny, Katie, Beth, and Michael. In 2017, they legally adopted their daughter Briell.

Leroy has loved and adored his, yours, mine, and ours 34 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews and is survived by many cousins and friends in the area.

Dub joined the United States Army with his brother Ron in December of 1957. He served in Karlsruhe Germany near the Iron Curtain helping anyone trying to escape. He chose Utah to finish his tour of duty and was discharged in 1960.

Leroy attended the Salt Lake Trade-Tech becoming a plumber & electrician; he served as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff in Murray, Utah in 1968.

Leroy was a hard worker and there was no end to his creativity and talents. The author of a book of poetry, he wrote many stories, songs and poems. In 1968 he became the Secretary of the Utah Songwriters Association.

Dub was a self-taught mechanic and restored several old cars and trucks as a hobby. Like several of his brothers, he created amazing woodwork and signs for all occasions.

He loved horseback riding, fishing, golfing, singing, traveling, dancing, etc. He liked reading books, putting puzzles together and playing games.

Dub was one of the best men on earth. He was a man of integrity and honor. He had a big heart. He was loving, giving, kind and helpful to everyone. He was not pretentious or haughty. His values were consistent and meaningful. He’d often tell folks, “I’m the same person on Sunday, that I am during the week. If you don’t like that, it’s tough.”
