Mildred Ann “Millie” Hill, age 88 of Salem, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. Millie worked as a rehabilitation neuro nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital, together with her husband Bill, Millie owned Hill Stables located at the Marion County Fairgrounds, racing horses in the neighboring county fairs and especially enjoyed hosting a food tent at their stable when the fair came to Salem. Her desire to always interact with people in the community led her to spending many years at Walmart in Salem. Working at both the original Walmart location and the new Supercenter, she became known as the clearance aisle lady and keeping her departments well organized. Millie was a long-time member of the Salem Free Methodist Church. Millie served God from the heart. Her lifelong ministry of helps was centered on Matthew 25:40b “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me”. Her zeal for helping people had no limits. She volunteered her time assisting shut-ins offering gift baskets and personal care as well as local nursing homes assisting the elderly. Most of all she enjoyed loving her family.
