Gloria Jean Hankins, 76, of Kinmundy, Illinois passed away July 13, 2022, at her home in Omega.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday in the chapel of Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home in Salem. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Kinmundy, IL. Visiting hours will be from 11:00 am until the service hour at the Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 97, 310 N. Broadway, Salem, IL 62881 (618) 548-1234. Born December 1, 1946, in Decatur, IL, she was the daughter of Thomas H. and Bonnie M. (Stone) Askew. On October 15, 1965, at Booty, IL, she married Thomas Junior Hankins who preceded her in death on October 23, 2018.
Survivors include her children, Weslie (Tammy) Hankins of Mt. Zion, IL, Lyle (Sherry Perez) Hankins of Kinmundy, IL, and Nikki Arlene (Steve) Durbin of Taylorville, IL. Also grandchildren Rebekah, Brittany (LaMont), Robert (wife Danielle), Bradley, Keely (Christian), Kyndra, Chandler, Brianne Ingran, and Cayden, and great-grandchildren Caleb, Carleigh, Chloe, and Malachi. She is also survived by her brother Jody Askew of Decatur, IL, and sister Cheryl Mize of Taylorville, IL.
In addition to her husband, and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson Bryce Hankins and a brother, Thomas Askew.
