One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on southbound Interstate 57 four miles south of the Farina.
State Police say a preliminary investigation indicates a vehicle driven by 55-year-old Darren Eaves of Powerly, Kentucky had stalled in the left-hand lane of traffic. It was struck by an ambulance driven by 37-year-old Matthew Dyer when it attempted to pass a semi. Eaves was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Both Dyer and a passenger in the ambulance, 24-year-old Jonathan McCain of Atlanta, Illinois, escaped injury.
Eaves was ticketed for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
The crash occurred at 2:06 Wednesday afternoon.
