In his younger years, he especially enjoyed playing on the First Baptist Church Softball Team in the Centralia Men’s Slo-Pitch League.

Jim loved being outdoors. He always had a dog by his side who was devoted to him. He loved airplanes and, when he was in his 70’s, he got his pilot’s license and bought a plane. Jim was an original supporter of the Centralia Balloon Fest and a partner in the special-shape “Arky” balloon.
