Salem Police have arrested 31-year-old Jacob Erwin of Shuler Road in Salem on multiple counts following two separate incidents involving a person with who he was ordered to have no contact through an order of protection.
Erwin is being held in the Marion County Jail for alleged violation of an order of protection, unlawful restraint, criminal damage and criminal trespass to property, and two counts of stalking.
Salem Police say the first incident occurred July 2nd when he allegedly forced his way into the protected person apartment at Mills Crossing and damaged the door in the process. Police report he was gone by the time they arrived.
Erwin reportedly returned on Sunday and while the protected person was getting into her car he allegedly pushed her into the passenger seat and got into the driver’s seat and drove off. Erwin allegedly pulled over and ran from the car on Missouri Avenue after allegedly encountering some of the woman’s family members. Police say they found Erwin hiding in the bathroom of Burger King a short time later. He was taken into custody without incident.
