2022 07/09 – Irmadell Eunice Loyd

Irmadell Eunice Loyd, 88, of Woodlawn, passed away at 5:17 a.m., on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon.

She was born January 12, 1934, in Boyd, the daughter of Everett and Opal C. (Meadows) Burton.  On May 8, 1954, at the Boyd Pentecostal Church, she married Elwood “Bud” Loyd, and he preceded her in death on February 23, 2002.

Mrs. Loyd was heavily involved in church activities at First Apostolic Church in Centralia, such as Ladies’ Group and teaching the Toddler/Pre-K Sunday School class for many years.  She loved providing for and taking care of her home and family.  She was an excellent cook and froze and canned produce her husband grew.  She enjoyed reading and completing word searches.  Until she retired, she worked at Horizon House in Centralia.

She is survived by three sons, Aaron Loyd and wife Jane of Mt. Vernon, Warren Loyd and wife Joy of Woodlawn, and Bruce Loyd and wife Kenya of Centralia;  ten grandchildren, Michael (Elizabeth), Brent, Kyle (Melanie), Cory (Meredith), Dylan (Ashley), Nicole (Joey), Liane (Ryan), Quentin (Westerly), Dustin (Alexandera), and Ashley (Billie);  eight great-grandchildren, Sophia, Elaina, Ezra, Eliza, Zoe, Gideon, Brady, and Owen;  one brother, Wilbur Burton and wife Ann of Manteno, Illinois; one sister, Dorothy Allen and husband Jerry of Arlington, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Elwood “Bud” Loyd, she was preceded in death by her parents as well as her brothers, William Jr., Carroll, Harel, Larry, and Donald Burton, and sister, Phyllis Goin.

Funeral services for Mrs. Loyd will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 9, 2022, at First Apostolic Church in Centralia, with Rev. Jonathan Urshan and Rev. Michael Loyd officiating.  Burial will follow at Boyd Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Friday, July 8, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix.  Memorial gifts may be made to First Apostolic Church and will be accepted at the service, or by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O.
