Stephen Alan Pigg, 73, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 3:59 am June 19, 2022, at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.
He was born July 28, 1948, in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Floyd and Laverne (Copple) Pigg. Stephen is survived by his children, Benjamin Irvin Pigg, Gregory James Rector, Ryan Stephen Pigg, and Courtney Clawson; grandchildren, Lauren, Cody, Chase, Hailey, River, Lydia, Chole, Bailey, Aria, and Aylah; great-grandchildren, Lily, Emberlyn, Emmett; brother, Kim Pigg; and sister, Kirby Presswood.
In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by his brother, Terry P. Michael; sister, Sidney Wolfe (Pigg) and husband, David; and former wife, Vickie Clawson (Pigg).
Stephen proudly served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam for two years.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Memorial Service will begin at 1:00 pm. Inurnment will follow at Kirk Cemetery in Ina, Illinois. Full Military Rites will be held at the cemetery by American Legion Post #141.
