Peggy Hardy, of Centralia, passed away Friday, July 1, 2022, at SSM Heath St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.
She was born the daughter of Loyd and Elsie (Session) Patton in Centralia.
Survivors include her beloved children Pam Marcum, husband Greg of Centralia; Randy Hardy, wife Sandy of Walnut Hill, Dee Ann Heltsley of Walnut Hill, Rick Means and Brian Means of Centralia; cherished grandchildren Danielle Fauser, husband Jeff, Blake Marcum, wife Lindsey, Andi Holliday, husband D.J., and Brandilyn Hardy; nine great-grandchildren and one on the way; sister Ruth Johnston, husband Sam of Odin; and life-long companion of 40 years Richard “Boomer” Means of Centralia.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Frances Schmitz, Dean Patton, Bruce Patton, and Jack Patton.
Peggy was an Odin Eagle student having attended grade school and high school there. She worked several years in food service at Murray Center and later tended bar. Peggy never missed an episode of Young and the Restless having loved the storylines. She was faithful to her family and enjoyed spending time with them and her two beloved dogs Lucky and Cocoa. Peggy created prize-winning fudge, divinity, and other candies receiving Blue Ribbon winners at the Duquoin State Fair. She will deeply be missed by all who loved her.
Celebration of Life services will be held at noon, Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Steve Upchurch officiating. Friends and Relatives are invited to visiting hours from 10:00 a.m. till the time of the services on Tuesday. Graveside service will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
