Bradley Pearce “Brad” Jones, 69, of Centralia, passed away Monday, August 31, 2026, at St. Louis University Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on December 7, 1956, in Rolla, MO, the son of James and Janet (Pearce) Jones.
Survivors that will remember Brad’s way of appreciating all the simple things in life including his beloved family, his children, James “Jimmy” and wife Jackie Jones of Mt. Vernon, Chad Jones of Mt. Vernon, Laci and husband Tony Bayles of Centralia, Michael and wife Melissa Clark of Centralia, and Haley Jones and partner Joseph Groh of Centralia; grandchildren, McKayla Jones, Braden Jones, Tyler Jones, Wyatt Bayles, Khali Clark, Ella Kroeschen, and Lucy Kroeschen; brother, Gregory Jones of Richview; niece Megan & Tim Alig & daughter Natalie; family friends, Jimi Sue Jones, Robert Jones, Melanie “Suzette” Martin, and Tina Clark.
Brad was preceded in death by his parents, James and Janet Jones; and his stepfather, Harold Kelsey.
Brad was the owner and operator of Brad Jones Painting and Drywall, where his love for his trade was apparent in the excellent work he did for grateful customers. He worked hard each day and instilled this same drive to take pride in one’s work in his children. Brad was active in his community, a former member of the Moose Lodge 1219 in Centralia. He didn’t just watch or play sports; he genuinely loved them all. Brad looked forward to each season’s sport: spring training for the St. Louis Cardinals, fall brought game openers for the St. Louis Blues hockey and Mizzou football, and every school year, Brad was cheering on the Centralia Orphans. An avid outdoorsman, he liked to slow down and relax while fishing and camping. Brad had a tender heart for his furry friends and appreciated his pets and all animals. He enjoyed listening to Rock and Roll and was known to sing along with his favorite songs. Brad’s heart was full when he was with his family, making lasting, fun memories, and loving each one more than anything. Brad’s passing brings sadness, but his memory of a life lived to show others how much he loved them will forever bring peace to his family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2026, at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Don Schaffer officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend the visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home in Centralia. Memorials may be made in Brad’s honor to his family.
