The U.S. Geological Survey reported hundreds of people felt an early Monday morning earthquake in southeastern Illinois.
The 3.5 magnitude quake was centered 3.7 miles northeast of West Salem in Edwards County just south of the Richland County line.
It was measured 11.8 miles deep.
The quake hit at 1:05 Monday morning.
