The Kell Fire Department had to extricate a juvenile driver from a one vehicle crash late Tuesday afternoon in rural Dix.
Kell Assistant Fire Chief Jason Franke says the vehicle apparent lost control when hitting a rough and rock portion of the Miller Lake Road a half mile north of Canton Lane. The car rolled, then landed upright.
Firemen had to remove the driver’s door and roof to free the driver. The driver was then flown by Air Evac helicopter to a St. Louis hospital for treatment of injuries. The passenger, who was also a juvenile, was not hurt.
Because they are juveniles, the names of the two in the vehicle are not being released.
The crash occurred at 3:56, with firemen on the scene until 5:13 Tuesday afternoon.
