The Marion County Emergency Management Agency and Office of Homeland Security (EMAOHS) are encouraging all businesses, cities, villages, townships, civic organizations, and community groups planning events in celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the United States to register their events with our office.
By registering your event, the Marion County EMA-OHS can include it in coordination briefings conducted with the National Weather Service and the Statewide Terrorism and Intelligence Center (STIC). This coordination allows our agency to provide event organizers with timely weather updates, situational awareness information, and notifications regarding any potential safety or security concerns that may impact planned activities.
In addition to information sharing, the Marion County EMA-OHS can assist event organizers with:
- Traffic flow and traffic management planning
- Emergency Action Plan development
- Event safety and preparedness recommendations
- Coordination with local response agencies when needed
Marion County EMA-OHS’s goal is to help ensure that all community celebrations are safe, informed, and successful while honoring this historic milestone in our nation’s history.
