The eight students in the Little Egypt CEO program this year will host a trade show on Wednesday to show off the businesses they have created as part of the class.

Everyone is invited to the show that will be held from five to seven at the Harvest Room in the Orchard Shopping Center on Route 37 South in Salem.

Centralia High Student Ben Wengler has developed a business called Mushroom Clones.

“I make novelties and molds of morel mushrooms to sell to taxidermists and other nature lovers,” Wengler said. “I make individual mushrooms for wholesale, and I make pairs to put on bases for retail sale. My dad is a taxidermist and I want to be able to work side-by-side with him in a way while I’m still at home. Since he is a business owner himself, I figured that I could learn from somebody in my own home and I could grow from him.”

Wengler plans to go to Kaskaskia College and study welding after high school.

Salem Community High School student Jolynn Keller was started a photography business.

“I own Ever Life Photography, which is a Christian-based photography business,” Keller said. “I offer family pictures, couples, portraits, and sports pictures.”

Keller plans to continue the business when she goes to St. Charles, MO Community College in the fall.

Another Salem High School student Lucy Schaubert has always been interested in hair, nails, and beauty items.

“My business is Lucy Lu nails,” Schaubert said. “It is a custom press-on nail business. I make custom press-on nails specifically fit for your fingers with a design of your choosing.”

Schaubert hasn’t yet finalized her plans after college.

Centralia High School student Grant Davis has created a business call 40:31 Athletics.

“I picked it because two of my big passions in life are my faith in Jesus and also athletics,” Davis said. “I was thinking of what I could do to combine them, so I came up with was Christian athletic wear. We sell, as of right now, shirts, tank tops and crew necks, with a plan to expand before summer.”

Davis plans to continue the business when he enters Greenville College in the fall.

You’ll be introduced to the four other entrepreneurs on Wednesday.   You’re invited to come out and support the young businessmen at the Wednesday trade school from five to seven at the Harvest Room in the Orchard Shopping Center in Salem.
