The Salem Wildcats soccer team is 15-2 as they finish their last run in the Cahokia Conference this afternoon when they host East Alton Wood River. Salem will clinch 2nd place in the conference, behind Columbia and would also continue the undefeated streak at the Salem Soccer Complex.
It’s also Senior Day for the Wildcats as they will be honored prior to the match. Also senior Eli Baker is just 5 goals from tying the IHSA career goal scoring record set in 2007-2011. He is at 172 career goals after his hat trick Saturday in Marion.
After today, Salem will travel to state ranked Newton on Thursday before hosting Harrisburg on Saturday. Salem’s final regular season game will be Monday at a very good Mattoon.
