Margaret E. Someiski, 89, of Salem, formerly of Centralia, passed away on January 23rd, 2025. She was born in Centralia on August 3rd, 1935, to Pearl “Buck” and Iva Mae Roddy.

Margaret was a long-time employee of both the Morning Sentinel, as an account executive, and U.S. Army Corp. of Engineers, as a gate attendant. She was a past member of the BPW, chaired the Special Olympics, and a board member of the Marion County Home Extension. She was an optimist that held strong to her faith, through the Marion County Church of Christ.

She is survived by her son: Greg Marcello; Grandson: Adam Marcello; Great Granddaughter: Ivy Marcello; Nieces: Teresa (Robert) Crouch, Melas (Tom) Millar; Nephews: Dave Hayden, Brooks (Janet) Hayden, Jeff Hayden, and Tracy (Jan) Hayden; and many great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son: Brad Marcello; husband: Albert Someiski; her parents: Pearl and Iva Roddy; three brothers: Joe Roddy, James Roddy, and Bob Roddy; sister: Betty Hayden; brother-in-law: Ross Hayden; and sister-in-law: Mary Roddy

A funeral service for Margaret Someiski will be held Wednesday, January 29th, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Sutherland-Rankin Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dwight Butler officiating. Burial will follow at the Paradise Cemetery in Salem. A time of visitation, for friends and family, will be held from 11:00 am till the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marion County Church of Christ and will be accepted at the Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, 310 N. Broadway, P.O.
