Ronald K. “Ronnie” Clark, age 83 of Salem, passed away on January 21, 2025 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
Ronnie was born on August 17, 1941, in Centralia, Illinois, the son of Homer and Virginia (Switzer) Clark. He married Darlene (Crain) Clark on November 16, 1968, and together they shared 56 years united in marriage.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Clark of Salem; daughter, Erin Quick and husband Todd of Odin; son, Geoff Clark and wife Jennifer of Salem; brother, Richard “Dick” Clark of Salem; grandchildren, Courtney Edgeworth and Macy Clark; and a sister in-law, Sherry Meyer and husband John.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Virginia.
Ronnie worked for many years as an operator for the Local 520 Operating Engineers out of Granite City. He was an expert road grader and was well known for his work. He also enjoyed working the family farm.
He was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church.
Private services for Ronald “Ronnie” Clark were held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem with Pastor Michael Feldmann officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and will be received at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem who is assisting the family with arrangements.
