The Project Bread Meal Sites in Salem and Centralia will reopen on Monday.
BCMW Project BREAD Coordinator Laura Snell says they will do a soft opening on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Congregate meals will be available at a new location in Salem, the Grace United Methodist Church at 116 East Schwartz downtown. The Centralia location will remain the same at 308 North Locust. The hours of the congregate meal sites as well as the delivery schedule for home deliveries will be 11 am to 1 pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Those in Salem should contract Snell’s office at BCMW until a new contact number is established. The number is 618-532-7388 extension 111. Seniors will be assisted in getting put back on the list for either congregate care or home delivery.
In Centralia, clients should call 618-533-1073.
Snell says they are very excited to be starting at the new location in Salem and seeing all the seniors back in both locations.
The Project Bread Sites were shut down at the beginning of November when BCMW went five months without payment from the Illinois Department of Aging.
BCMW Executive Director Jessica Backs says they have now received all back payments and are hopeful no new glitches develop.
