Cecil Dwayne Neff, age 60, of Kell, passed away on January 1, 2026, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.
Cecil was born on March 30, 1965, in Salem, the son of Cecil Harold Neff Sr. and Karen Sue (Stage) Neff.
He is survived by his daughter, Mandee Dodson and husband Tim; brothers, Kevin Neff and Scott Neff; half-brothers, Tim Neff, Paul Neff, Willard Neff, and James Hassebrock; his uncle, William “Bud” Stage; a fiancé, Stephanie Wilson, along with other extended family and friends who will miss him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three half-brothers, Leonard Neff, Cecil “Butch” Neff Jr., and John Hassebrock.
Cecil spent many years working in the oil field industry, where his strong work ethic and hands-on abilities were evident to all who worked beside him. He had a true talent for working with small engines and fixing things, often finding joy in repairing what others had given up on. Cecil loved the simple, meaningful parts of life, especially his horses and his dogs, which brought him comfort, peace, and companionship. He was happiest when surrounded by animals or working with his hands, living life in a quiet but steady way.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced. If desired, memorial contributions can be made via Venmo: @mandeelynn08. Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be sent to Mandee Dodson at mandeedodson@gmail.com or at www.CrouseFH.com
