James Richard Haskell, 80, of Centralia passed away, into the arms of Jesus, Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Axiom Healthcare in Mt. Vernon. He was born on July 20, 1945, in Sacramento, California, the son of George and Thelma (Smith) Haskell.

James was a dedicated, faithful member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Centralia. He had a servant’s heart and would eagerly help his church family and community. He knew the importance of advancing God’s Kingdom by shining a bright light to expel any darkness. James was affectionately known as the peanut brittle man, sharing with grateful buyers the church’s delicious peanut brittle, all around town.

A private burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, where James will find his final resting place by his mother, Thelma Haskell. To honor James’ life, you may look for opportunities to volunteer in your community. Shining the light of encouragement in others’ lives, just like James did.
