A 48-year-old Salem woman has been arrested for aggravated battery after allegedly attacking a 57-year-old Salem man with an altered bat.
Salem Police say Dee Schwarm of North Trenary is accused of striking the alleged victim during an altercation at his home on Lyford Street on Saturday.
The victim could not identify Schwarm as the person responsible for his injuries, but police were able to get that information from a witness.
The man was transported from the scene by United Medical Response to Salem Township Hospital and was later transferred to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana for treatment of serious non-life threatening injuries.
Schwarm was later taken into custody at her home without incident and was transported to the Marion County Jail to await a decision on formal charges and a first appearance before a judge.
