The US Army Corp of Engineers has announced an increase in nightly camping fees for all of its campgrounds effective immediately.   The Corps has also announced the Dam West Campground will shift to a fully reservable campground.  To better accommodate camper preferences and improve planning, all campsites at Dam West will now require advance registration.  The Corps says the change eliminates the uncertainty of first-come, first served camping and allows visitors to secure their spot before arriving.

With this change, all USACE campgrounds at Carlyle Lake, which includes Dam West, McNair, Coles Creek, and Boulder, are fully reservable. Reserving a campsite may be done by visiting www.recreation.gov, calling 1-877-444-6777, or scanning the campsite’s QR code. First come, first served campsites are available at Illini Campground within Eldon Hazlet State Park.

To support the ongoing maintenance and improvements of all USACE campgrounds, the nightly campsite fees for standard single capacity campsites will increase from $18 to $20 and full hookup single capacity campsites will increase from $26 to $30. The nightly campsite fees for standard double capacity campsites will increase from $36 to $40 and the full hookup double capacity campsites will increase from $52 to $60.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers appreciates the public’s understanding and support as these changes take effect. We look forward to welcoming campers and continuing to provide outstanding outdoor experiences for everyone.
