Donald Richard Stroud, 69, of Dix, passed away at 8:40 a.m., Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at the Marion VA Community Living Center, in Marion, Illinois.
He was born December 17, 1954, in Bloomington, Illinois, the son of John Luther and Thelma Jean (Young) Stroud. On April 13, 1991, in Ina, Illinois, he married Susan Kay Johnson, and she preceded him in death on January 8, 2016.
He is survived by two sons, Jerrod Stroud and wife Brandy of Bonnie, and Donald “Boulder” Richard Stroud, Jr., of Mt. Vernon; step-children, Rebecca Russell and husband Timothy of Charleston, South Carolina, and Larry Johnson of Centralia, Illinois; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Thomas Luther Stroud, William J. Stroud, John Wayne Stroud, and Jerry Lee Stroud; sister, Patricia Baker; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Susan Kay Stroud, he was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Linda Jean Talley; and one brother, Joseph Henry Stroud.
