The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reported both drivers refused hospital treatment for injuries following a crash Friday morning on the Route 161 Extension.
Initial reports indicate a car driven by 65-year-old Steven Lisenbey of Iuka was traveling eastbound on the Route 161 Extension and had passed another eastbound semi parked on the shoulder of the road. Lisenbey then struck the front drive side corner of a westbound semi operated by 63-yea-rold Willie Bowman of East St. Louis which was also parked on the shoulder of the road. The impact of the crash spun the Lisenbey vehicle around before it came to a stop in the north side ditch facing west.
Both Lisenby and Bowman were checked on the scene by United Medical Response.
The crash occurred at 9:27 Friday morning.
