A 34-year-old Salem woman has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge in connection with a threatening voice mail left on the voice mail of a Salem Grade School Administrator.
Marisa Starnes of South Lackey admitted to a Class A misdemeanor charge in exchange for felony intimidation and disorderly conduct charges being dropped. She was sentenced to 18 months probation, ordered to abstain from drugs with random testing, attend anger management classes, and have no contact with the bus driver’s residence or place of employment.
Salem Police at the time of the incident said the message threatened to ‘drag’ children off a specific bus that is used by her child and do substantial harm to them as well as to that specific bus driver.
The aggravated assault charge claimed she threatened to come to Salem Elementary and attack the bus driver in such a manner as to place the bus driver in reasonable apprehension of receiving a battery.
