New Horizon & Woodlawn Win Rome Tournament Openers
New Horizon beat Bluford 66-43 to kick off the 70th Rome Tournament. The Crusaders were led by Hunter Malekovic who had 28, Eli Marcum added 20. New Horizon is 4-1 on the season and will take on Wayne City tomorrow at 6:15 in the 2nd round.
Also at Rome last night, Woodlawn survived a barn burner with Waltonville winning 40-36. They will play the winner of New Horizon/Wayne City on Thursday. Today Rome will take on Raccoon at 5pm followed by Patoka and Opdyke at 6:15.
St Mary’s Invitational Opened Monday Night, Continues Tonight
Tonight at the St Mary’s Invitational in opening round games, St Rose takes on Trinity at 6pm followed by TSJ and Sandoval at 7:15.
The tournament began last night with Selmaville beating North Wamac/Irvington 42-21. Mayson Pearson had 19 in the loss. Rafe James led the Rockets with 14.
In the 2nd game last night, St Mary/Willow Grove beat Odin 40-19. Tucker Aydt had 14 in the win and Blaise Schwartz and Callen Williams each scored 6.
In other action, Cisne beat South Central in double overtime 45-42. Iuka beat Kell 66-3 with Hayden Dasch scoring 14 and Hosea Weems 12.
