A 65-year-old Centralia man has been arrested by Centralia Police for alleged aggravated battery to a police officer and criminal trespass to property. Joel Firebaugh of South James was taken to the Marion County Jail pending a decision on formal charges.
Centralia Police also arrested 45-year-old Kelly Schuchmann of East 15th Street in Centralia on a Fayette County felony no-bond warrant.
Salem Police arrested 31-year-old Spencer Loyd of North Miller in Salem was arrested on a no-bond Clinton County felony warrant.
The Centralia City Fire Department quickly put out a grass fire along the BNSF Railroad tracks near the yard office on Johnson Street on the city’s north side. The fire is believed to have started from a passing train. Firemen could keep the fire from spreading into the nearby woods even with a delay in reaching the scene by a train. The fire call came in at five Sunday night.
