A 36-year-old Centralia man faces additional charges and is now being held without bond after violating his pre-trial release conditions within an hour of getting out of the Marion County Jail.
Bonfacio Salinas-Peralta of South Hickory was ordered by Judge Mark Stedelin to have no contact with an alleged victim of an aggravated domestic battery before being released late Wednesday morning. But Centralia Police say within an hour of getting out of jail he was on the back porch of the residence he was to have no contact. Salinas-Peralta was arrested on new charges of violation of an order of protection and violation of conditions of pretrial conditions.
The State’s Attorney’s office had their request on Wednesday to hold Salinas-Peralta without bond denied, but when he was returned to court on Thursday with the additional charges, the judge ordered him to stay in jail. In his decision, Stedelin cited the multiple allegations of domestic violence towards the same victim, had been served an order of protection barring contact and had also violated the pretrial release conditions.
The original aggravated battery charge against Salinas-Peralta accused him of intentionally impeding the breathing of the alleged victim by blocking her nose or mouth with a blanket. He also faces two misdemeanor domestic battery charges for allegedly kicking and striking the same alleged victim in the face with his hand.
