Centralia Police are investigating a drive-by shooting Thursday night involving two vehicles in the 900 block of North Elm.
Police report an SUV pulled up beside another vehicle and fired multiple shots into that car. Fortunately, no one in the vehicle was hit. The gunfire all went into the vehicle and nothing else in the neighborhood was hit.
The owner of the struck vehicle made contact with the Centralia Police Department. Police were given a description of the SUV from where the shots were fired. The car was impounded so the Illinois Department of Criminal Investigation could gather evidence.
So far no arrests have been made.
The shooting incident was reported at 10:30 Thursday night.
