Centralia officials release parking and road closure info for Fall Festival and Halloween Parade

The City of Centralia has announced road closure and parking restrictions for the Fall Festival and Halloween Parade on Saturday.

There will be no parking allowed on the route for the Children’s Parade starting between 7:00 a.m. and noon. The parade starts at 11 a.m. and the restriction shall remain in effect until the parade ends. The parade travels westbound on Broadway starting at the library, south on Locust Street and east on Second Street ending at Sycamore Street. During the Kiddies Parade vehicles must be off Broadway St. starting at Pine St. to Locust St. to 2nd St. to Elm St. starting at 10:00 am.

There will be no parking allowed on the route for the Annual Halloween Parade starting at 5:00 p.m. The parade starts at 7:00 p.m. and the restriction will remain in effect until the parade ends. The parade begins at Rhodes Street and travels southbound on Poplar Street (US Hwy 51 South) until Calumet.

Due to the US 51 detour routes, no parking will be allowed on Locust Street from Rhodes Street to McCord.   Locust Street will be one way traffic southbound only. Parking will also not be allowed on several side streets including Rhodes, Kell, Howard, Rexford, Haussler or Kerr.  The city reports all vehicles will be removed at Owners Expense.
