Jack Erlinger, a beloved papa, father, and son, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the age of 54. He was born on Sunday, May 30, 1971, in Centralia, Illinois, the son of Tom Erlinger and Janet (Huffstetler) Erlinger. He resided in Nashville, Illinois.
Jack was a dedicated employee of Nascote, working diligently in the factory, contributing to a company he held in high esteem. Outside of work, Jack had a passion for the great outdoors, finding joy in hunting, fishing, and attending motocross races. He was also an avid pool player and cherished the moments spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.
Jack is survived by his mother, Janet Erlinger, of Centralia and his cherished children: TJ Erlinger and wife Libby of Sandoval, and Cheyenne Erlinger and fiancé Seth Hongsermeier of Centralia. He was a proud papa to Brooke, Kaylee, Lydia, Nicole, Easton, and Ava. Jack’s devoted companion and partner for 33 wonderful years, Bobbie Sue Hegwood of Centralia.
His siblings, Paul Erlinger and wife Cami of Indiana, Stacy Farmer and husband Gary of Odin, Jeremy Erlinger of Centralia, and Jessie Erlinger of Centralia, mourn his loss deeply, as do his many nieces and nephews. Jack’s extended circle included his best friend Tommy Evans and his family — Chrissy, Bailey, Damon, and Buddy Thor— who were not just friends but his bonus family, all of Centralia.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Tom Erlinger.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.
