Police Beat for Saturday, October 12th, 2024

Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 43-year-old Brian Cushman of East Johnson in Dix for alleged domestic battery and felony theft.  The incidents occurred on separate days earlier this month.   No other details are available.  Cushman was taken to the Marion County Jail to await a decision on formal charges.

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 19-year-old Logan Randall of North Copple Lane in Walnut Hill for alleged criminal damage to property over $500.  He’s accused of slashing a tire on a vehicle on State Route 161 on Thursday.

Two others were arrested for driving under the influence following separate incidents.  75-year-old Paige Ralidak of Mulberry Street in Sandoval and 22-year-old Clayton Whyers of Shuler Road in Salem were both released on notices to appear in court.

Jefferson Fire reports a John Deere tractor that was accidentally left running at Mt Vernon Elevator on Route 37 South of Mt. Vernon caught fire late Friday night.  The fire was near a grain bin, but the fire was knocked down before it could spread.  It is not known what started the fire.
