Salem Police arrested 55-year-old Arthur McLoren of Marion for reckless discharge of a firearm and criminal damage to property after he allegedly fired a gun through the door of his motel room.
Police report they had received a call that McLoren thought someone was after him. He later allegedly fired four or five shots from inside his room at the Days Inn through the outside door. Police say fortunately no one was outside and there were no injuries.
McLoren was taken to the Marion County Jail to await a decision on formal charges.
The incident occurred during the noon hour on Friday.
