The Little Egypt 5k and fun run will return this year and will once again be a morning activity at the Little Egypt Festival.
The event is sponsored by the Salem Community High School cross country team and drama club, which split the proceeds.
Drama Club Sponsor Drew Johnson says sign-up will begin at eight Saturday morning near the Salem Aquatic Center, with the 5k stepping off at nine am through Bryan Memorial Park and the Nature Trail. He notes runners favor the morning race instead of doing the run down the parade route before the parade begins that was done for several years.

There were 35 runners last year, a number they hope to beat this year.
