A 43-year-old Iuka man has been charged in Marion County Court with aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer after allegedly fleeing Iuka Police. Davy Middleton of North Avenue was arrested after his vehicle crashed on the Omega Road. The charge claims during his attempt to flee he violated two or more traffic control devices in Iuka.
Middleton was taken to Salem Township Hospital for treatment where he allegedly began being verbally abusive to a nurse. Salem Police were then called and he was taken into custody for threatening a public official. The State’s Attorney’s office has not yet filed any charge in connection with that incident.
During the first court appearance, Middleton had a public defender appointed to represent him. He is next due in court on November 12th for first appearance with counsel and for a preliminary hearing.
