An attempt to steal a portable carport from a home in the 8000 block of the State Route 161 Extension on Wednesday ended when the truck carrying the carport crashed on the Extension.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reports the driver left the truck and the trailer holding the carport after it became stuck across the highway. The department has impounded the truck and trailer as the investigation continues into who was responsible.
