A 37-year-old Salem man has been arrested for aggravated battery to a nurse as he shoved her running from the emergency room at Salem Township Hospital early Tuesday night.

Salem Police say Dustin Ferrell of Warmoth Street allegedly shoved the nurse into a door frame who was trying to stop him from leaving.   He reportedly pinned the nurse long enough to gain access to the waiting room and forced open the sliding doors to get outside.

Police say Canine Civtka was called to track Ferrell after he ran into Bryan Memorial Park.   Civtka alerted on Ferrell after finding him sitting in a ditch.  He was then taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail.
