The Tune family with a float featuring a boat and promoting the library theme won Best Theme and the Mayor’s Choice in the Saturday morning Patoka Fall Festival Parade that traditionally kicks off the Labor Day weekend.  The parade honored the Patoka Library on its 90th birthday.  Several past librarians and board members joined a Birthday Cake float as the parade made its way through downtown to the park.

Other float winners include the Torrence Family for Most Creative, the Phelps, Spicer, and Torrence Family for Most Colorful, and a side-by-side featuring Veterans Bill Hill and Dude Landreth was named Most Patriotic.

In the antique tractor competition, Haley Nattier was first, Noah Reynolds was second, and Travis Nattier was third.   In the show cars, Tune Rat Rod was first, Sherry Brown second, and Terry Smith third.

The Spirit Award went to Studio 50, with the Patoka Cross Country taking second.

Olivia Kingston won for best-decorated kid’s bicycle.

The Patoka FFA won the wild card award.

In the horse division, Ethan Klieboecker was named Best Dressed Cowboy and Emory Engelhardt Best Dressed Cowgirl.  Nita Kurtz was Adult Best Dressed Horse and Rider.  Jessa Thalman took first in Kid Best Dressed Horse and Rider.  Adalyn Griffin was second and Paisley Dial was third.

Organizers were pleased with the crowd and said the first-ever fireworks display during Friday night activities drew positive comments.
