The Salem Township Hospital Foundation has presented a check for the proceeds of the June Golf Gala to the hospital.

The check was received by Hospital CEO James Timpe.

“This time $27,000 was raised from the golf outing.  That money will go towards new beds in the medical/surgical units of our inpatients, our most in-need patients.   This is the reason we are able to fund some of the needs of the hospital which is great.”

“Over the years the foundation has given us $1.5 million which has helped us to buy radiology equipment, the front lobby, and many other things we couldn’t have done without that money so we really appreciate their support of Salem Township Hospital.”

The Golf Gala alone has raised $537,000 during its 23 years.   This year there were a total of 38 teams and 152 golfers.

The current Foundation President is Myron Lloyd commended Foundation Member Chariya Tawjareon for overseeing the annual golf gala.

“It is a nice affair.  Not only is it helpful for hospital, which is our main concern, but it is actually a good time for our board to be together and we all have a great time really.  The people that support that have been wonderful to play and be involved with us.  It’s just a really fun day.”

Anyone who would like to donate to the STH Foundation may do so by giving your gift to any of the Foundation Board Members or by sending a gift in the name of the STH Foundation, 1201 Ricker Drive, Salem, IL 62881.  Checks should be made payable to the Salem Township Hospital Foundation.  If you would like the gift in honor of or in memory of someone, please note it on your check.  The foundation is a 501-C3 organization and your gift will be for a tax credit.
