The OBC Tournament began yesterday at Field and the Salem Little League Complex.
The 2nd seed Field Lady Panthers opened with a dominant 15-0 win over Raccoon to advance to the semifinals against Willow Grove/St Mary who had no issues with Iuka in their 16-1 win. The two winners then played under the lights at the Complex with Field pulling out an 8-5 victory.
At Field, Selmaville survived and advanced to the title game with an 11-1 win over Odin/ACA in the semifinal. The Lady Rockets scored 4 in the second inning and 3 in the 3rd for the 11-1, 4-inning win. Samara Simmons went 2-2 with 2 doubles and 5 RBI, Brylee Carter added 2 hits and an RBI while scoring 3 runs. Gabby Goostree drove in a run and scored 3 times, Karmen Murray also added an RBI. Allie Patrick got the win striking out 9 and only walking 1 with 3 hits allowed.
Odin got to the game after a 13-3 win over Central City in the opener.
Selmaville and Field will play at Field Monday, Odin and Willow Grove/St Mary play for 3rd Monday at Selmaville.
Today the Selmaville Lady Rockets will host a 3-team round robin today at the Complex. At 10am it’s the Lady Rockets taking on Carlyle followed at 11:45 with Carlyle and Bethel and then Selmaville and Bethel will finish the day at 1:15.
